So I’m Going to Start Over Tonight: Beginning with You & I
Chapter 10
Just then she heard the doorbell ring. Taking her chance she ran to get the door, stopping at the hall mirror to dry her eyes and fix her make-up. When she answered the door there was Haley and a girl she didn’t know, but took her to be Jon’s girlfriend Cassie.
“Hey you guys! Come on in!” Hayley said trying to hide that she had been crying not more than a few minutes before.
“Hey Hayls. Long time no see. It’s been ages!” Haley exclaimed as she wrapped Hayley in a big hug. Then she stepped back and brought the other girl forward.
“Hayls this is Cassie, Jon’s girlfriend. Cassie this is Hayley, We went to high-school together.”
Cassie extended her hand and shook Hayley’s.
“Nice to meet you Cassie. I’ve heard so much about you.” Hayley said with a warm smile. Cassie smiled back, then Hayley lead the two girls into the living room where everyone was at.
They were all waiting when Hayley entered with the two girls. Haley was dressed in a spaghetti strapped, light blue, knee length dress. It’s had a white silk rose on the hip that slightly gathered up the skirt making the bottom come up at upside down “V”. Her hair was curled put in a loose bun. She wore light blue eye shadow that matched the light blue crystal necklace and bracelet she was also wearing. When she entered she said hello to the boys and then slid her hand into Spencer’s. He leaned over and gave her a soft kiss on the lips and commented on her dress. She giggled and complimented his outfit too.
Next entered Cassie. She was wearing a deep-red evening gown that went below her knees. A black silk ribbon was tied around her waist and into a bow behind her. It matched her glittered, black sling-back heels. In her hand was a black velvet handbag that had a tiny red bow at the top. She wore black eyeliner and mascara with light brown eye shadow. She entered, said her hellos, and took her place next to Jon. He complimented how gorgeous she looked and she told him he looked very handsome, smiled and kissed his cheek. He smiled and pecked her lips and linked his arm in hers.
When everyone was settled Hayley introduced Angeline to Haley and Cassie. They greeted each other and shook hands. Then Hayley looked up at the clock. It was 7:20.
“Hey how are we getting to the show?” Hayley as she turned to Ryan.
“Oh the label called and they are sending a limo. It should be here any minute.” Ryan replied as he checked his phone.
The girls started a conversation with each other and about ten minutes later the doorbell rang and it was the limo driver. Everyone grabbed there belongings and headed out the door, after the girls did a quick run to the bathroom mirror. The guys headed out to the limo, got in, and waited for the girls. A few minutes later the girl’s hurried out of the house giggling about some joke Cassie had just shared. They entered the limo and sat in the seats across from the guys.
After Ryan told the driver that they were ready, they were off to the award show. The whole ride there the four girls couldn’t stop talking. Hayley and Haley would reminisce about their high school years and what they had been up to since then. Cassie and Angeline would also add in here and there. The girls would also talk about the latest gossip news and Cassie and Haley would ask questions about how it is living in New York. When they finally pulled up to the venue where the award show was being held they all took their places to exit. Spencer and Haley were first. They thanked the driver and exited into the mass of reporters and flashing cameras. Next came Jon and Cassie. They too thanked the driver and followed Spence and Haley into the crowd. Now it was Brendon and Angeline’s turn. Angeline looked pretty nervous, Brendon could tell.
“Hey Angeline. You ready? Just stick with me and you’ll be fine.” “Promise.” Brendon added as he grabbed her hand and gave a reassuring squeeze.
Angeline looked over at Hayley for more support. “Don’t worry Hun. You’ll be fine. I’m right behind ya.” Hayley said smiling at her friend.
Angeline heaved a sigh and let Brendon lead her out of the limo into the cameras and bright lights. Last to exit was Ryan and Hayley. They gave their final ‘thank you’ to the driver, Hayley rested her arm on Ryan’s and they too exited.
Outside on the red carpet the group stayed close together, smiling for the cameras and walking slowly behind the other celebrities in front of them. When they got close to the end a interview lady stopped them.
“And here comes Panic! at the Disco,” they heard her say. So the group walked over to her and the camera she was in front of.
“Hey,” the boys said in unison.
“ So glad you guys could make it tonight. What are you all wearing?” The lady said holding out the microphone.
“We are wearing one-of-a-kind AngelJean designs. AngelJean are our new designers.” Ryan replied to the woman.
“Very nice, who are they?” The Interviewer inquired.
“They are a pair of best friends from New York. Hayley Williams and Angeline Chase. They really are amazing.” Brendon chimed in looking at Hayley and Angeline.
The lady nodded and followed up with another question. “So I see Spencer and Jon have brought Haley and Cassie. Hello girls.”
The girls both said hello. Then the interviewer added,
“And I see Brendon and Ryan you have brought your new girl friends too!” She said perking up.
Angeline hid her laughing and blushing behind her hand and looked at the floo. Hayley stepped forward to the microphone.
“We aren’t their girlfriends. We are just good friends. My name is Hayley Williams and this is my friend Angeline Chase.”
“Oh you’re their designers. I see.” The interviewer said, raising an eyebrow.
“Well we better get going. Thanks.” Jon said as he lead Cassie to the venue door. After one last wave at the camera, the rest followed him and soon were in the building.
“Sorry about that Angeline.” Brendon said leaning over to her.
“Oh no problem. It was……amusing.” They both laughed.
As Hayley and Ryan were walking behind the others to their seats they didn’t say a word. They both felt pretty awkward about what had just happened.
The group found their seats and sat down. Ryan waited for Hayley to sit before he took his seat. He smiled at her the whole time. After a few minutes the lights went down and the award show started.
Hayley tried not to look at Ryan or even think about what had just happened on the red carpet. You don’t like him. You can’t like him, not again! Hayley Williams get a hold of yourself!- She kept repeating to herself. She turned to see if Ryan had finally stopped watching her. He hadn’t. When she turned to look at him, there he was looking at her again. She quickly turned her eyes back to the stage. A few seconds later she looked back at him again to check if he was still watching her. He caught her looking and turned to her. She hid her smile with her hand, he smiled back. Hayley loved the way he smiled at her. The way it curled up slowly at the right and into a wide -Stop that Hayls! You can’t go through this again with him. You can’t! Hayley quickly turned her eyes back to the stage and settled herself into the chair.
“ Flashback”
“Hey is Ryan coming today?” Hayley asked, “He hasn’t been to practice for the past week.
Hayley desperately wanted Ryan to come. She missed seeing and hanging out with him, and every time she asked one of the guys about him they would exchange worried looks and say they didn’t know. The only time she ever saw him was in between classes in the hall at school. When she would say hi to him he would quickly say hi and walk away.
“Uh no, I’ve just seen him around school.” Brendon replied with a shrug.
Just then Ryan entered the room. Hayley suddenly perked up.
“Hey Ry-” Hayley cut off mid-sentence. Because as Ryan entered someone entered in beside him. Not just any someone, a girl someone.
“Uh hey guys. This is Kelsey, my girlfriend.” Ryan said nervously, scratching his right arm with his left.
She was about as tall as Hayley. She had long, wavy, blonde hair that was pushed away from her face by large, white-rimmed sunglasses. She wore light blue eye shadow that matched the light blue skirt and matching tight tank top she was wearing. The girl was no stranger to Hayley. She was in some of her classes at school.
The girl sat on a couch next to Hayley’s chair. Hayley’s eyes sank to the floor.
“ Uh Ryan, the guys and I would like to see you in my room for a minute.” Spencer said raising his eyebrows and walking out of the garage door leading to his house. Brendon and Brent followed, and after he told Kelsey he would be right back, Ryan followed them out too.
Hayley and Kelsey just sat in Spencer’s garage/basement in awkward silence.
“Why did you bring her here without telling us first?!” Spencer yelled at Ryan once he had gotten in the room.
“Last time I checked I didn’t have to ask you guys who I could and couldn’t bring,” Ryan yelled back.
“ You’ve missed practice for the past week! And for God’s sakes of all people why Kelsey Conner?” Brendon said, raising his arms in the air.
“I happen to like her!” Ryan replied.
“She’s the school slut, Ryan!” Spencer yelled.
Ryan started to get red in the face, ”Don’t you talk about my girlfriend like that! She’s changed and I like her!” He turned and stormed out of Spencer’s room and down the hall , followed by Brendon. When they had gotten to the end of the hall Brendon grabbed Ryan by the arm and pulled him back.
“What about Hayley! I thought you liked her! What happened to that, huh?” Brendon said, looking Ryan straight in the eye.
Ryan met his gaze then looked down at the floor,” I don’t know, Bren, I don’t know,“ was all he could mutter. He looked back up and met Brendon’s hard gaze. His eyes were starting to water. Brendon wished so hard he could just tell Ryan how Hayley felt about him, but Spencer said that he couldn’t say anything, no matter what. He let Ryan go and they walked quietly back to the garage/basement.
Brent had left the room not long after Ryan and Brendon, and when Spencer walked out the door he turned to his right and saw Hayley, crumpled on the ground with her face in her hands. She had heard everything.
“Hayls, Don’t cry. Please don’t cry. He’s being stupid, plain stupid.” Spencer sat down next to her and wrapped her in his arms.
“No Spence, I’m stupid. Stupid for ever thinking he would ever like someone like me.”
Spencer leaned his head to hers, “Don’t say that Hay-” She cut him off,
“No it’s true. She’s pretty and all the guys love her. Including Ryan.” She broke out into a fresh set of tears.
Spencer held her tighter and began to rock her back and forth. “Your smart, funny, AND beautiful Hayls, no matter what.”
She finally calmed down, and Spencer helped her clean up in the bathroom. Then they both went back and joined the rest of the group.
Hayley snapped back into reality, feeling very upset. Just then she heard Panic! at the Disco’s name being called. They had won the Best Music Video award for their “I Write Sins Not Tragedies” video. They got up and made their way to the stage.
When they got to the podium Jon and Spencer said their ‘thank you’s and as usual Brendon cracked a few jokes. Ryan thanked everyone and then they exited the stage. A few minutes later they were back in their seats. All the girls were smiling widely and congratulating the boys. When Ryan got back to his seat he handed Hayley the trophy so she could look at it.
After the whole show was over, everyone decided to go to the after party that was to be held at a club on the strip. First the boys had to take numerous pictures and talk to the various bands and celebrities that came to congratulate them. It was around 11:45 when they finally got into the limo and headed to the party.
Mmk now I think it'sa gonna get a lil juicier or more explanitory.....maybe both. Hope ya'll are lovin it so far. I am! As usual buzz,comments, and feedback welcome -_-
